Leading Indian producer of pharmaceuticals, Aarti Pharmalabs has a presence throughout the world. We are dedicated to creating and continuously enhancing our safety systems and culture in order to achieve our objective of becoming the leader in safety.

In keeping with our fundamental principles of "Care," "Integrity," and "Excellence," we have a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment Policy that demonstrates our dedication to upholding the highest levels of health and safety possible.

Occupational Health

Healthy workers, in our opinion, are the cornerstone of any organisation. The creation of a healthy staff is something we are deeply devoted to at Aarti Pharmalabs because "Care" is one of our major values. Our main priority is to keep raising the health requirements for contractors and employees. Our dedication to promoting awareness and improving community welfare is shown in the several projects we've launched to encourage individuals to take better care of their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Under the Aarti Management System, which combines best-in-class occupational health standards, Aarti Pharmalabs has implemented recommendations on occupational health components. We have state-of-the-art medical infrastructure, including a lab for testing methaemoglobin, G6PD, audiometry, a central oxygen line, a decontamination room, and other emergency equipment, as well as 24x7 well-equipped occupational health centres with a dedicated medical team. There are modern ambulances available everywhere to respond to emergencies. To guarantee that our employees receive the greatest medical care possible, we have agreements with neighbourhood and multi-speciality hospitals as well as the hiring of specialist physicians.

The company doctors handle routine and pre-employment medical exams and offer to counsel our employees. Additionally, we host training sessions and health camps to promote community health awareness.

Safety

We firmly believe that even "world class" is insufficient for safety. This conviction motivates us to excel beyond the best in the area of safety. Cradle to cradle is the strategy used by Aarti Pharmalabs to ensure safety along the entire value chain, from product development to customer service.

The highest level of management at Aarti Pharmalabs implements and routinely monitors a variety of leading and lagging indicators, including safety studies, safety training, audits, TRIFR, LTIFR, LTISR, and Incident of High Consequences Frequency Rate (IHC-FR). We have integrated management system certifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

With the help of cutting-edge tools like the Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Thermal Screening Unit (TSU), Vent Sizing (VSP-2), ARC - Accelerating Rate Calorimeter, Flash Point apparatus, and Minimum Ignition Energy, to name a few, we have established a state-of-the-art process safety laboratory.

The intrinsic safety design of plants ensures safe and dependable operation. For plant operation and to carry out safety studies and assessments like HAZOP, HIRA, QRA, SIL, LOPA and other risk studies on a set periodicity for process validation, we have employed experienced and competent individuals.

We endeavour to reduce workplace accidents and incidents by fostering a culture of safety at all levels of the business. We begin each day with a safety vow to reaffirm our dedication to maintaining public security and welfare. We see ourselves as net talent exporters for securing the whole pharmaceutical products manufacturing industry. We also plan a variety of safety initiatives, drills, campaigns, and training both inside and outside the organisation.

To improve the expertise of our staff, especially the younger generation, we organise TACIT information sessions with seasoned industry professionals.

Any on-site or off-site emergency may be handled with our infrastructure and qualified personnel. We have mutual aid agreements in place with neighbouring industries, and we also support other sectors and towns in times of need. We hold safety and emergency preparedness awareness meetings for the neighbouring community.

BE SAFE: Inculcating A Culture Of Responsibility

Aarti Pharmalabs has undergone a paradigm shift as a consequence of the abbreviation BE SAFE, which stands for "By Employees Sustainability Assurance For Employees." Through their outward behaviours in the areas of compliance, health, safety, environment, and fire, employees reassure one another. "Assurance on Health Cheque of All Facilities - Zero Harm" is the BE SAFE programme's stated objective.

Regular video conferencing-based BE SAFE huddles are held to emphasise the safety message. Employees from various locations take part in these huddles to exchange knowledge about important safety-related topics, success stories, and lessons learnt from significant incidents.

Development, adoption and review of guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are major tools used for the achievement of intended safety objectives under the BE SAFE Initiative. Besides, we have designed and adopted Process Initiative Common (PICs) with specific objectives such as elimination of exposure to hazardous chemicals, reduction of electrical incidents to zero, achieving zero leakage status, etc.

Customer Health and Safety

One of the most crucial stakeholders for every organisation is its customers. Businesses are still in operation because of persistent consumer demand. Building a loyal customer base, goodwill, market reputation, and favourable word-of-mouth publicity are all aided by customer satisfaction. One of our cultural characteristics and crucial success elements is customer centricity.

Due to our stringent health, safety, and quality requirements, we have built lasting strategic partnerships with our clients and have emerged as the "Global Partner of Choice" for major specialty chemical producers.

We take regular consumer feedback on the health and safety elements of our products since we are dedicated to the health and safety of our customers. Customers are assisted and given safety instructions by Aarti Pharmalabs.

Product Safety and Stewardship

The first step in a product stewardship initiative is to evaluate and prioritise each product or product group based on the amount of risk, which is calculated using hazard and exposure ratings.

The inherent dangers of a product are its flammability, corrosivity, reactivity, and toxicity, among other negative traits. Product exposure is the term used to indicate potential contact between a product and people or the environment. It depends on the product applications, the kind of packaging, the distribution channel, the sales volume, the number of customers, and their control mechanisms.

Specific risk management techniques and requirements have been defined for each risk category and are regularly assessed. We collaborate closely with our suppliers, carriers, distributors, and clients to ensure that they uphold high standards for safety and the environment. We offer them technical support, training, logistical assistance, and health, safety, and environmental advice.
