Our Outlook

Since its establishment, we have endeavoured to create long-lasting stakeholder value rather than just focusing on maximising revenues. Our organisation's business strategy has been influenced by the moral character, ethical judgement, and business prowess of our founders and leaders. The basic values of "Care, Integrity, and Excellence" serve as the foundation for our corporate strategy. We take our customers', employees', and local communities' needs and wants into consideration as we design and carry out our company strategy.

Our "Business Ethics and Code of Conduct" embodies our beliefs and guiding principles and directs how each APL employee performs their job-related duties. Annual affirmations of compliance with the code are made by all company officials, including board members. When necessary, the ethics committee has reviewed and looked into cases of code of conduct violations and taken appropriate action.

As a corporation committed to upholding high ethical standards, we are aware that bribery and corruption are major issues that may jeopardise the reputation of our business. We adhere to UNGC principle 10, which emphasises that businesses should fight corruption in all of its forms, including extortion and bribery, as a signatory to the UNGC. It is mentioned to them while approving contracts and is a part of our supplier code of conduct.

Encouraging Fair Practices

A whistle-blower mechanism has been instituted in APL to provide an opportunity for employees and other business partners to report any unethical practices within the company. Complaints can be reported pertaining to:

  • Fraud against investors, securities fraud, mail or wire fraud, bank fraud, or fraudulent statements.
  • Violations of any rules and regulations applicable to the company and related to accounting and auditing matters.
  • Intentional error or fraud in the preparation, review or audit of any financial statement of the company.
  • Any violations to the company's ethical business practices as specified in the company's ‘Code of Conduct’ policy.
